How to renew UnlockTool

Five steps, no reinstall, and the same username you already use. Renewing keeps your existing account alive instead of starting a new one.

Before you start

Renewal is the right choice when your UnlockTool account has held a licence before — active, expiring, or long dead.

  • You know the exact username of the account being renewed
  • The account has some activation history on UnlockTool.net
  • You are staying on the same account, not moving to a new one

Not sure which variant applies to you? Read new activation vs renewal first — ordering the wrong one is the single most common reason a licence sits in the queue instead of activating.

Step 1 — Check your expiry date

Log in at UnlockTool.net and open your account page. The licence expiry date is shown there. Note it down before you order — you will use it in step 5 to confirm the renewal actually applied.

If the date has already passed, that is fine. An expired licence still counts as history, so a renewal is still the correct variant. You do not lose the account by letting it lapse.

Step 2 — Choose the renewal length

Three durations are available, and the renewal price is identical to the new-activation price for the same length — the difference between the two variants is which process runs on the licensing server, not what you pay.

Compare all six side by side on the pricing page.

Step 3 — Order the renewal variant

Open the renewal licence you picked and place the order. Two things matter here, and both are worth double-checking before you pay:

  1. The variant says Renewal, not New Activation. They sit next to each other and cost the same, which is exactly why they get mixed up.
  2. The username is exact. Copy it from UnlockTool.net rather than typing it from memory — a single wrong character sends the licence to the wrong account or stalls the order.

Step 4 — Wait for the licence to apply

Renewals are applied to your UnlockTool.net account within 1–6 hours. There is nothing to install and nothing to activate manually — the extension happens server-side on the account itself.

You can keep working in the meantime if your current licence has not expired yet. If it has already lapsed, the tool will start working again as soon as the renewal lands.

Step 5 — Verify the new expiry date

Close UnlockTool completely, reopen it and log in. The account panel should now show the extended expiry date. If it still shows the old one, log out and back in once — the client caches the licence state between sessions.

Renewing before your licence expires

You do not have to wait for the last day. Ordering a renewal while a licence is still running generally extends the existing expiry rather than overwriting it, so the days you have already paid for are not thrown away. If the exact timing matters for a job you have booked in, confirm with support before ordering rather than after.

If the renewal has not arrived

Past the 1–6 hour window, check these in order before contacting anyone:

  1. Payment cleared? An order that is still pending payment has not entered the queue at all.
  2. Right username? Re-read what you submitted against your UnlockTool.net account name, character for character.
  3. Right variant? If you ordered a new activation for an account that already has history, the order is sitting in manual review rather than failing outright.
  4. Still stuck? Send your order number to support. Orders that have not been processed can usually be corrected without a second purchase.

The activation guide covers the same troubleshooting path in more detail, and the download and install guide covers the errors that show up on the client side rather than the account side.

Do I need to reinstall or re-download?

No. A renewal touches your account, not your installation. Reinstalling is only worth doing if the client itself is misbehaving — and in that case, grab the current build from the download page rather than an older copy you have lying around.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is renewing cheaper than a new activation?

No. For each duration the renewal and the new activation cost exactly the same. The difference is which activation process runs on the licensing server, not the price.

My UnlockTool licence expired months ago. Can I still renew?

Yes. An expired licence still counts as activation history, so renewal remains the correct variant no matter how long the account has been inactive.

Will renewing early waste the days I have left?

Ordering a renewal while a licence is still active generally extends the existing expiry rather than replacing it. If the exact dates matter for your schedule, confirm with support before you order.

Do I need to reinstall UnlockTool after renewing?

No. The renewal is applied to your UnlockTool.net account. Close the tool, reopen it and log in again — the new expiry date appears without any reinstall.

How long does an UnlockTool renewal take?

Renewals are applied within 1-6 hours of the order being placed. If nothing has changed after that window, check that the payment cleared and that the username you submitted matches your account exactly.

I ordered a new activation instead of a renewal. What now?

Contact support with your order number straight away. Orders that have not been processed yet can usually be re-routed to the correct process without buying again.
